Philippe Coutinho agents in Arsenal talks after Mikel Arteta 'approves' ex-Liverpool star’s Premier League return

Former Liverpool playmaker Phillipe Coutinho could be returning to the Premier League with a loan move to Arsenal.

That’s according to The Mirror (via Sport ), who report that Coutinho's agents are heading to London in an attempt to secure a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The 29-year-old’s transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona in January 2018 for an eye-watering £142m has not worked out.

And the report claims that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has approved a short-term deal for Coutinho in which his parent club will pay a part of his £150,000-a-week wage.

The Brazilian enjoyed a glittering career with Liverpool across his five-season spell at Anfield, making 201 appearances, scoring 54 goals and contributing 43 assists.

But due to injuries and a carousel of managers, Coutinho has only managed 106 appearances for Barcelona and was loaned out to Bayern Munich for the 2019-20 season, where he won the UEFA Champions League, one year after Liverpool did the same.
