Philippe Clement says senior Rangers players weren't happy with the transfer business that was carried out in the summer of 2023, when Michael Beale was at the helm.
Beale, Clement's predecessor, brought in the likes of Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, Jose Cifuentes, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, and Jack Butland, among others.
The Englishman, however, was sacked in October, just under two months after the summer window slammed shut.
Clement was then appointed, and when he came in, several players weren't happy: "In the beginning, you speak first with the more senior guys who have experience," said the Belgian [Sacked in the Morning podcast].

"So I did that with the captain group at that moment.
"They were not in a good place. They were not happy with the signings that were made in the summer. And because of that, they felt it was not the standard that Rangers had before and that because of that, they hadn't been successful.
"After a few talks, we could change that mindset. Because I told them also, 'It's easy to point to the others, but what did you guys do to make the others feel comfortable here, feel good here, to become good players? And maybe they are not ready yet, but it's your job also to help that'.
"They totally took that message. And I think it was a very important part to have a good season with a lot of victories in a row, because it united the team in that moment, and the senior guys really took big responsibility in that to help the new guys, and they felt much more comfortable on and off the pitch."
Clement is currently without work after departing Rangers in February of this year.
