Philippe Clement on Rangers transfers & Ridvan Yilmaz's future

Philippe Clement insists Rangers fans can expect there to be January business conducted by their club - because he certainly thinks there will be.

The Belgian was left reeling yesterday as his side were beaten in a closed-doors friendly in Spain.

The 49-year-old was sent off just seven minutes into the second half in La Manga after letting his feelings be known to the ref over an incident involving Scott Wright.

Post-match Clement refused to be drawn in on that situation, however, he was willing to address the club's potential transfer dealings.

Fabio Silva has already arrived as Rangers bolstered their attacking options. Clement wants to add another striker and a left-back this month.

The Gers boss said: “Everyone is working hard for that, to find the right players who can add something extra to the squad.

“January is always a difficult period in that regard, but everyone in the club is working hard to bring players here. I expect, everybody expects and we are all working hard.

“I can’t put a figure on it because I know out of experience that you never get everything you want.

“Maybe clubs with all the money in the world, they can do that, but not clubs like Rangers.

“We are going to make it as good as possible in this period, but it’s much easier in the summer.”

Ridvan Yilmaz could be on his way out of the club as Serie A side Hellas Verona consider a move.

That comes after Josh Doig moved from the Italian outfit to French giants Marseille.

But Clement refused to be drawn on the left-back's Ibrox future.

He added: “It is the same as the situation with the rumours about players coming in.

“As long as players haven’t signed somewhere else and they are here, they are still with us.”
