Philippe Clement details Rangers injury 'puzzle' as further blow emerges

Philippe Clement has admitted he is facing an injury "puzzle" at Rangers.

The Ibrox boss will be without Nico Raskin tomorrow night after an ankle knock.

And he confirmed in his pre-match press duties that John Souttar has suffered an injury blow and is unavailable for the trip to face Dundee.

Tom Lawrence has returned to training with the Ibrox first-team but is not fit enough to feature and striker Danilo could play a part but is unable to play 90 minutes.

On the complex selection scenario, Clement said: "It is quite a puzzle with the various injuries. It's the biggest puzzle I ever saw.

"John Souttar will also be unavailable with a small muscle issue.

"Lawrence is back training but not yet fit enough to be in the squad.

"Raskin is not in the squad for tomorrow, he was doing good things so it is a pity.

"I hope it is short-term, we will see the next couple of days."

Kemar Roofe remains sidelined for Rangers and Clement has confirmed the player's condition is still being assessed.

He said: "We are assessing Kemar Roofe at the moment, hopefully short-term."

Despite the injury worries, Clement is hopeful of having a larger selection of players at his disposal moving forward with a new strategy in place.

"In the next couple of weeks and months we want to have a bigger squad available and are working on this internally," said the Rangers boss.

"We give the players the tools to be the best they can be physically, mentally and tactically. It is then about players taking responsibility.

"It is a long-term project to create physical ability and to be able to last 90 minutes twice a week. This can't be done in two weeks, it is a longer-term project to build physically. Everyone knows this is important for the future as we build."
