Danish winger Philip Zinckernagel has claimed Watford are a bigger club than Celtic as he revisited his summer transfer snub.
The attacker signed for the Hornets on a Bosman from Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt in January but has claimed Neil Lennon wanted to sign him at that time.
In the end the 26-year-old opted for the English second tier and will be playing in the Premier League next season after winning promotion.
Following the end of the campaign, Zinckernagel took part in a fan Q&A session where he was put on the spot about his move to Watford.
He was asked if it it true Celtic wanted to sign him and about interest from other clubs.
The Danish youth cap responded: “We never got close to signing any deal with Celtic, but there was a lot of talking and a lot of interest, so it was something that I had to consider, for sure.
"There were a few Championship clubs interested as well, but nothing that attracted me as much as Watford did.
"Watford were a much bigger club and it was an easy decision in the end.”
Zinckernagel has previously stated the decision to knock back a move to the Scottish Premiership came down to a "sporting challenge".
Following his moved to the Championship, he said: "I could have chosen to go to clubs where I would have earned more money.
"I preferred the sporting challenge to money, not that it's a bad package I've got at Watford and it's a five-and-a-half-year contract.
