Philadelphia Eagles to release CB Sidney Jones

The Sidney Jones era is over in Philadelphia, as Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Eagles are set to release the former second-round pick.

The writing was on the wall after Jones missed a week of practice and the Eagles subsequently signed cornerback Craig James to a contract extension.

Jones, the team’s 2017 second-round draft pick, has dealt with injuries and inconsistent play after tearing his Achilles prior to the draft.

Jones missed most of his rookie season recovering from the injury and hasn’t been the same since.
