Philadelphia Eagles to have preseason schedule reduced from 4 games to 2 amid the coronavirus pandemic

In a move that should allow for a longer training camp, while keeping all 32 NFL teams safe, the league will reportedly reduce the preseason schedule to just two games.

The league will reportedly eliminate the first and final week (4) of the preseason schedule according to ESPN.com, via Pro Football Talk.

Each team will reportedly receive one home and one away preseason game.

NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith discussed the possibility with Mackenzie Salmon of USA Today.

The Eagles were scheduled to open the preseason on Aug. 13 in Indianapolis, with the first home preseason game scheduled for Aug. 27 against the Patriots.

The regular-season home opener is Sept. 20 against the Rams.
