Philadelphia Eagles sign Carson Wentz to massive, four-year extension

The Philadelphia Eagles are continuing to put all their faith in Carson Wentz. They have signed their quarterback to a four-year extension that will take him through the 2024 season.

Wentz’s extension is worth $128 million and includes guarantees over $107 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said according to a source. The deal can escalate from $128 million to a max of $144 million, according to a source.

Wentz’s total deal is six years for $154 million and can grow to a max of $170 million.

Wentz was the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State. He has a 23-17 record as a starters. He has been out of action due to injury for parts of each of the last two seasons.

Wentz was replaced by Nick Foles in the 2017 regular season and the backup led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl championship.

Wentz has thrown for more than 10,000 yards with 70 TDs against 28 picks as an Eagle.

Wentz sent a message to the Philly phans.
