Philadelphia Eagles' QB Jalen Hurts Officially Out of White House Visit Due to 'Scheduling Conflicts'

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 09: Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles celebrates with the Vince Lombardi Trophy after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome on February 09, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Credit: Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts will miss the Philadelphia Eagles' White House visit with President Donald Trump, citing a "scheduling conflict" as political tensions swirl around the event.

The Eagles' relationship with the White House has been complicated in recent years. Following their Super Bowl win seven years ago, the Trump administration canceled their visit amid controversy over players' protests during the National Anthem.

This year, after winning Super Bowl 59 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles accepted the traditional invitation to celebrate their victory at the White House, according to the Eagles Wire.

While the team plans to meet with President Trump, Hurts — the face of the franchise and newly crowned Super Bowl MVP — announced he would not be attending, attributing his absence to "scheduling conflicts."

His decision comes as fellow Eagles star Saquon Barkley faces criticism after golfing with Trump over the weekend and accompanying him to Washington, D.C. Barkley defended his actions on social media, emphasizing respect for the office of the presidency, regardless of political differences.

Hurts' absence is likely to spark speculation about whether deeper political or personal motivations influenced his decision.
