Phil Neville has admitted that he finds it 'absolutely incredible' that supporters are freely calling for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked.
The Manchester United boss' position at the club seemed to be vulnerable after his side lost 5-0 to Liverpool at the weekend - the manner of that display was particularly concerning - but Solskjaer is set to remain in charge for United's trip to Tottenham.
Solskjaer has had to endure unprecedented pressure for his managerial reign this week after his 'darkest day' at the club.
While there was no audible 'Solskjaer out' chants at Old Trafford during the Liverpool debacle, it seems opinion on Solskjaer has now shifted among United fans and that is tangible on social media, which Neville thinks is a 'cesspit' for the 'lowest' people.
"Social media is an absolute cesspit for people that are just the lowest of the lowest," Neville told the Miami Herald.
"We live in an era where it's seen as quite normal to ask people to be sacked, which I find absolutely incredible. If you were in any other workplace and you walked into a shop and you said, 'I want you to be sacked', I think you would be reported to the police.
"People don't probably realise that the things they are writing hurt families, hurt human beings, people that have problems in their lives, and nothing gets done about it."

After making those strong comments, Neville offered his backing to Solskjaer.
"These things happen in football. I think the sensationalism of everything now is just out of control," he added.
"Yes, it was probably a real sickening blow for everybody that's ever played, supported, or been involved with Manchester United. But it's not as if United have never lost 5-0 ever in history. This has happened and United bounced back and won things.
"I lost at St. James Park 5-0. Philippe Albert chipped Peter Schmeichel and it felt no different. The only difference was there was not a billion people on Twitter thinking they knew best about this, that and the other.”
