Paul Pogba will stay at Manchester United for many years to come and become an all-time club great, according to Phil Neville.
The France World Cup winner, 27, faced an uncertain future with the Old Trafford club earlier this season amid reports he would leave for either Real Madrid or Juventus.
But Class of ’92 favourite Neville insists all of that transfer speculation is now in the past - and he believes the midfielder will remain at United for the long haul.
“Before the shutdown I would have said definitely he would leave the club but I think the situation has changed,” said Neville, speaking to Premier League Productions.
“It’s a different dynamic now. I think with the introduction of Bruno Fernandes and the way they’re playing [is positive].
“The way the trajectory of the team is looking I think Pogba might be thinking ‘I think this is a good team to stay and play in’ and to commit more than he has done in the past.
“Yes the economic situation has changed but i still think for Paul Pogba, stay at Manchester United, prove yourself, become a great at the club that you joined at 14 years of age.”
Following a six-month injury lay-off, Pogba has made a huge impact since his return to action.
He is set to start alongside Bruno Fernandes away at Brighton on Tuesday evening, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in-form side look to maintain their charge for a top-four finish.
