Phil Mickelson offers to help Tom Brady take his calves to the next level

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is suffering from a minor calf issue this week that limited him in practice, but help may be on the way ahead of a home matchup with the Jets. PGA Tour legend Phil Mickelson, who takes great pride in his calf strength, tweeted that he’s on the way to Boston to take care of Brady’s “inadequate calves.”

Mickelson, even at the age of 49, has some of the most impressive calves on tour. The PGA Tour’s rule change earlier this year that allowed players to wear shorts in practice rounds allowed Mickelson to put his iron calves on display, and he rarely misses an opportunity to do so.

Mickelson may even be able to fill in for Brady this weekend. Phil has shown off some decent throwing ability in the past, and with the Patriots entering the weekend as a staggering 22.5-point favorite against the Jets, New England could probably survive with just about anyone under center.

Let’s make this happen, Patriots.

[UPDATE]: Steph Curry seems to be interested in Mickelson’s services.
