Phil Mickelson's obsession with money has been branded grotesque - but he has plenty of it.
The golf legend has a staggering net worth of around $365million (£279m), making him the second richest player in the sport's history.
Only Tiger Woods can boast a bigger net worth than Mickelson and the pair have not been afraid to flaunt their money.
In 2018, Mickelson faced Woods in a one-off exhibition match where the winner would pick up an eye-watering $9m (£7m).
The match saw the pair stake huge sums of money, with side-bets taking place throughout. For example, they wagered $200,000 on the first hole alone.
Such was the size of the finances on offer, the PR people behind the event thought it would be a good look to get both men standing behind piles of cash.
The pictures were branded 'grotesque' and 'vulgar' among other terms, with many believing that the exhibition was a bad thing for golf.
But for Mickelson, he does not really mind. He earns a remarkable amount firstly from golf, but then also his endorsements with famous brands.
Callaway, Barclays, KPMG, Exxon Mobil, Rolex and Amgen are all among the companies paying money to Mickelson, in which he earns around $40million (£30.5m) every year.
Mickelson was ranked 74th on Forbes' 2018 list of highest paid celebrities in America, taking home $41.3m in earnings.
Of that, $37 million came from endorsements and $4.3 million from golf tournament winnings.
Mickelson is also known to be a big gambler, hence why he took part in the mega-money match with Woods in 2018.
