Phil Mickelson ‘has been telling folks that (Jon) Rahm signing with LIV is a done deal’

On Wednesday, Alan Shipnuck of the Fire Pit Collective reported that Phil Mickelson has been telling people Jon Rahm is deserting the PGA Tour and signing with the LIV Golf League.

Rumors of Rahm heading to the Saudi-backed circuit have spread across social media on several occasions over the last year plus, especially after it was announced the Spaniard left the tech-infused — and delayed — TGL.

The two-time major champion’s close friend and countryman Sergio Garcia is already on LIV’s roster, and Rahm has gone to bat for LIV members multiple times.

“I think it would be really stupid of anybody not to lean on Sergio Garcia’s experience in the Ryder Cup,” Rahm said in September.

In October, Mickelson claimed he knew LIV would sign more talent this offseason.

“Do I think that? No, I know that’s going to happen,” Mickelson said when asked whether he expects another movement of players to LIV.

Rahm won four times on Tour this season, including the Masters, and is ranked third in the world.
