Phil Foden highlights Czech Republic danger men ahead of Euro 2020 showdown for England

England's Phil Foden has highlighted West Ham duo Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek as two key players for the Czech Republic ahead of the key Euro 2020 clash.

The West Ham pair have an assist apiece so far this tournament as they have helped their country to the top of Group D ahead of the final group match against England on Tuesday night.

The Czech Republic beat Scotland 2-0 in their opening game before a 1-1 draw against 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia and Foden knows how difficult a task England face.

"They love to win the battles in midfield and they are really strong, so we are going to have to be really up for it on the day and try and win the second balls," Foden told talkSPORT.

"Hopefully, on the day we will create more for Harry [Kane] and score goals."

The Manchester City man picked out Coufal and Soucek as a threat from the Czech's: "[They're] difficult opponents," he said. "They’re two great players who have done very well for West Ham this year. Let’s just hope they have an off day when they face us.

"But no, they are two great talents and they have done really well this year."

Soucek will be going head-to-head against his West Ham teammate Declan Rice in the key midfield battle during the match, something the pair have spoken about prior to the tournament.

"That match will be a special moment for West Ham supporters because I will be playing against Declan," Soucek told FourFourTwo. "We’ve spoken about it – he told us that we can’t win at Wembley and we said, ‘Well, remember your last game against us!’ [Czech Republic's 2-1 win in 2019]

"It’s been fun, it’s been friendly. Only the 90 minutes on the pitch will be unfriendly, perhaps."

Soucek's international and club teammate Coufal has also spoken with Rice ahead of the match but is well aware of the difficult task his country faces: "Me and Declan talked about these matches we are going to play," the Czech right-back said.

"But I have to say that England as a team are very strong. They are incredible.

"They are one of the favourites for the win. In our match against them we need to do our best and surprise people at Wembley."
