Phil Foden and his monumental rise at Manchester City can be charted by a staggering rise in transfer value.
The 21-year-old sensation came of age in 2021 - having already shown regular glimpses of his talent - and is now a certain starter for club and country.
Despite an injury setback, Foden has scored five goals and provided as many assists for City this season.
When you look at his contribution across the calendar year, too, it's clear to see why the Stockport playmaker was named as one of four Manchester Evening News nominees for the Fans' Footballer of the Year (FFOTY) award.
Had things turned out differently, Foden might have even been a Champions League and Euro 2020 winner.
However, after picking a third Premier League medal, the silky-skilled left-sider was - similarly to Kyle Walker, John Stones and Raheem Sterling - denied at the final hurdle, twice, in the quest for immortality.
Foden has plenty of time on his side to make up for that double heartache, though.
But how does his current value compare to fellow starlets Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe?
According to fresh data from KPMG Football Benchmark - and its algorithm - the Borussia Dortmund goal machine stands as the most valuable player in Europe right now ( €142million). Mbappe is second at €128m and Foden comes in third at €117m.
That represents a staggering rise from 2020 - when his value stood at €50m - although City and their fans will, no doubt, suggest Foden is priceless.
Foden is a contender for our Fans' Footballer of the Year vote in both the national and club sections.

Given those estimated transfer values take into account age and contract length as well as ability, none of his City teammates are in the top 10 this year - with Kevin de Bruyne slipping from eighth to 12th in the standings.
To highlight this, Mbappe's predicted worth reduced from €200m to €128m on account of him being out of contract at the end of this season.
For context, the average value of a Premier League player currently stands at €21.2m - almost twice as much as the German Bundesliga (€11.4m) or Spanish top-flight La Liga (€11m).
