Phil Foden among Man City players seen arriving at training ground

Manchester City players have been spotted arriving at the City Football Academy training ground on Friday after the Premier League gave the green light for training to resume earlier this week.

Groups of five can train together after clubs voted unanimously to allow a return to the training grounds, so long as they adhere to social distancing measures. Contact training is prohibited for now, and any team meetings will continue to be conducted online.

City players returned to the training ground on Friday for the first time in over two months, with players including Phil Foden seen arriving and leaving the CFA.

No date has been set for fixtures to resume, although it is expected that all games will be played behind-closed-doors. City have already refunded season ticket holders for their remaining Premier League home games at the Etihad. They also have the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Real Madrid to play at home, while Pep Guardiola's side are also into the FA Cup quarter finals.

As part of their return to training, all players and staff at Premier League clubs will be tested for coronavirus. A total of 748 tests were carried out over the weekend and City players arrived at allocated times to receive their tests.

The Premier League confirmed they received six positive tests from three clubs during the first phase of mass testing but MEN Sport understands no City players or staff tested positive.
