The mother of missing teenager Pheobe Bishop has spoken out with a desperate plea for more information from the public after police laid charges against the 17-year-old’s former housemates.
On Thursday evening, police charged James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, with murder in relation to Bishop’s disappearance.
Bishop had been living with Wood and Bromley before she went missing on May 15.

Wood and Bromley have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse. However, according to a statement by police, Bishop’s remains have not been located.
“Detectives continue to investigate this matter, and physical searches will continue as needed as information is provided,” Queensland Police said.

Bishop’s mother, Kylie Johnson, has since issued a statement seeking information from the public that will allow her to lay her daughter to rest.
“Our world has just been shattered into the most horrific place I’ve ever been. I need my baby home to put her to rest! I’m absolutely begging anyone that knows anything to come forward,” she wrote on Facebook.
“We need to put her to rest, we need to put her to peace Day 21 of our baby girl still missing. My heart is holding onto every little memory and hope that you come home to us Phee Phee. The little internal family jokes, the little digs at your siblings and the love you all unconditionally shared. The fierceness of that was beyond beautiful and unique.”

Johnson reflected on how deep Bishop’s bond with her siblings was.
“I remember someone commenting once that you were all so co-dependent that you finished each other’s sentences,” she continued.
“This statement made me the happiest mum alive! Your sibling bond is deep, meaningful and makes my heart so happy. The emotional connection, love and friendship have always been unmatched and unquestioned.”
Bishop was last seen near Bundaberg airport on May 15. She had booked a trip to Western Australia, but CCTV footage revealed that she never entered the airport.
So far, police have undertaken multiple searches of Good Night Scrub National Park and a forensic examination of a Gin Gin property and a grey Hyundai.
On June 4, detectives confirmed that they had suspended physical searches for the teen. However, they confirmed that items linked to the investigation had been found during a search in the Good Night Scrub National Park.
“There are currently no physical searches for Pheobe at this stage; however, physical searches will happen as needed and as information is provided,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said, per 9News.
“Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of enquiry.”
Wood and Bromley are due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrate Court today.
