Pharrell Williams is ready for a woman to be president.

Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, the singer and judge for The Voice endorsed Hillary Clinton.

“It’s time for a woman to be in there,” he said. “Women think about things in a holistic way, it’s not so individual.

“I’m saying I’m happy to be a man, but I love women. The thing is, if we had somebody looking after our country that thought about things as a whole, I just feel like it just would be different.”

People in the US tend to be “so easily sensationalized”, Williams said.

“People are like, ‘OK, we need a president that we can play Scrabble and Celebrity with,’ but that’s not who’s gonna solve your problems. You need someone that’s gonna take it serious.”

Williams said Clinton’s “serious tone” was key to her success.

“She does have a serious tone, but when things get done, it’s by someone who’s being serious about it,” he said.

DeGeneres agreed with Williams that it is “Hillary time”, saying: “I love Hillary, as you know.”

Clinton appeared on the show in September and talked, among other things, about gender equality, Kanye West and her granddaughter.
