A talented team of pharmacists at University Hospital Wishaw have won a huge award in their field.
The team, who provide pharmacy support to the surgical and critical care teams, took home the Hospital Pharmacy Team of the Year at this year’s national Scottish Pharmacy Awards.
They are part of the multidisciplinary team who take care of some of the most critically ill patients in the hospital.
On top of that, they help support patients who have undergone surgery and have been recognised for their work providing the service during the pandemic.
The 2020 Scottish Pharmacy Awards: Raise the Curtain, this year celebrated the work of pharmacy heroes across Scotland during the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19 and were presented virtually to the worthy winners.
Jennifer Murphy, Senior Clinical Pharmacist Critical Care, University Hospital Wishaw, said: “ We are over the moon that our team have won this award.
“ I am proud of the work our team have achieved during this unprecedented time and delighted that this has been recognised at a national level.”
Michael Smith, Clinical Pharmacist: Surgery, University Hospital Wishaw, said: “The team are absolutely delighted to have won, especially in light of Covid-19 and all the work we’ve been putting in and it’s amazing to have it recognised at a national level.”
