Pharmacies, saddlery among new Hunter COVID exposure sites

THE Hunter's list of COVID exposure sites continues to grow, with several additions overnight including venues in the upper Hunter.

Muswellbrook Fair Shopping Centre's Pharmacy Select was added to the list a day after the centre itself, with exposure windows for the chemist spanning noon to 12.20pm on Wednesday September 22 and 11am to 11.15am on Thursday September 23.

In Scone, Marsh Carney Saddlery was exposed from 11.50am to 12.10pm on Thursday September 23.

Two more sites were also added in the lower Hunter: Hungry Jacks at Beresfield's in-store customers were potentially casual contacts on both Thursday September 23 between 3.45am and 12.35pm, and Friday September 24 between 4.40am and 2.45pm.

Charlestown's Chemist Warehouse was also flagged between 7.40pm and 7.55pm on Monday September 20, and again on Wednesday September 22 from 6.25pm to 6.45pm.

All four venues were designated casual contact exposures.

That means anyone who attended must seek testing and isolate until they receive a negative result.

The exposures follow NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant flagging the region's case numbers as a concern during Monday's update, where the state government also laid out its plan to begin re-opening the state from October 11.
