PGA Tour player and his Twitter followers found a cool way to raise $10K for St. Jude

PGA Tour player Max Homa, who picked up his first win on Tour earlier this season, turned a frustrating moment during this past weekend’s WGC-Fed Ex St. Jude Invitational into an awesome storyline that ended with $10,000 being raised for St. Jude Hospital by fans of his on Twitter.

It all started after his first round on Thursday when, after a finishing with a 4-over 74, he tweeted about not caring about how his play was hurting anyone’s fantasy golf lineups.

That led to a back and forth with many fans that eventually led to a movement being made in which fans would donate money to St. Jude for every birdie Homa made going forward:

Homa, who finished the tournament T-61, was happy to share some good news on Monday:
