PGA's Justin Leonard prices Dallas-area home at $16 million

March 09--Former British Open champion Justin Leonard has listed his home in Highland Park, Texas, for sale at $15.995 million.

The Mediterranean-inspired contemporary, built in 2010, sits back from the street on a wide lot of about an acre. Accessed through a courtyard entry, the 13,930-square feet of living space is highlighted by large formal areas, a rustic cook's kitchen, a wine cellar, a media room, a fitness center, six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.

A covered loggia has beamed ceilings, an alfresco dining room and an outdoor living room with a fireplace. Large expanses of grass, a fountain, an outdoor kitchen and a putting green complete the grounds. There is a four-car garage.

Leonard, who has earned more than $34 million on tour for his career, has notched 12 PGA events since turning pro in 1994. He won his first and only major at the 1997 Open Championship at Scotland's Royal Troon, besting Darren Clarke and Jesper Parnevik by three strokes.

The golfer and his wife, Amanda, acquired the property in 2009. The couple own other property in the area, including a 8,696-square-foot home with a subterranean garage, according to Candy Evans of Candy's Dirt.

Kelly Hosch and Shelly K. Bailey of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate are the co-listing agents.
