Rory MacDonald was arguably the PFL’s most high-profile signing yet. Friday, he has a shot to make good on his promise.
MacDonald (22-7-1) takes on 2019 welterweight season winner Ray Cooper III (22-7-1) in one of two semifinals at 2021 PFL Playoffs 1. It wasn’t a perfect regular season for MacDonald – he lost a split decision to Gleison Tibau in his second fight.
But that’s all moot now that the playoffs are here, and a win over Cooper will put MacDonald in the $1 million playoff final this fall against the winner of Friday’s second semifinal matchup between Magomed Magomedkerimov (28-5) and Sadibou Sy (9-5-2).
