‘PFL 2019, Week 5’ weigh-ins see three fighters scratched from card

Week 5 of the PFL’s second season got off to a rough start when three fighters missed at the scale at Wednesday’s weigh-in.

A lightweight bout between Season 1 champ Natan Schulte and Jesse Ronson is now set for Thursday’s fight card after their respective opponents came in heavy.

PFL 2019: Week 5 takes place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. Main card bouts air on ESPN2 following prelims on MMA Junkie.

UFC vet Ramsey Nijem, scheduled to face Shulte, weighed in at 147.2 pounds and was scratched when he “wouldn’t put his full feet on the scale,” New Jersey State Athletic Control Board counsel Nick Lembo told MMA Junkie.

Carlos Silva, scheduled to fight Ronson, came in three pounds over the allowable limit at 159 pounds.

The PFL requested to pair Shulte and Ronson with both fighters making weight without issue.

Additionally, a featherweight fight between Gadzhi Rabadanov and Daniel Pineda was scratched when Rabadanov did not weigh in. Lembo said he was informed beforehand that the Russian fighter wouldn’t make an attempt.
