PFF thinks the Vikings will go under nine wins for 2020-21

Minnesota’s over-under on BetMGM was listed at 8.5 wins for 2020-21.

Pro Football Focus thinks you should hit the under on that. The website recently said that Minnesota will get under nine wins for next season.

The website listed a lot that went right for the Vikings in 2019-20, but according to PFF, “2019 is over and — much like 2018 — there’s way too much fundamentally wrong with the purple to be optimistic about them in 2020.”

One of the reasons PFF thinks the Vikings will regress is because the defense will get worse. I honestly don’t know if that’s true. Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes have reportedly left in free agency, but Waynes was average last season and Rhodes was worse than average.

It makes sense that if Mike Hughes and Holton Hill can play the whole season, and maybe the Vikings draft a corner, that the defense could actually get better.

Everson Griffen reportedly announced a departure from the team, but the Vikings have 12 possible draft picks to try and replace his production. I’m not willing to say that the defense is going to get worse just yet.
