PFF: The Patriots have 2 of the most valuable non-QBs in recent playoff history

The New England Patriots have spent a majority of the past two decades with deep playoff runs. Which in turn produces statistics and accolades in the playoffs for those on the team.

Julian Edelman and Devin McCourty have been beneficiaries of this time in the playoffs, according to Pro Football Focus. PFF named Edelman and McCourty the No.1 and 2 most valuable non-quarterbacks to be in the playoffs since 2006, respectively. The only other players on the list are Ed Reed and Richard Sherman.

McCourty has 23 playoff games under his belt with an interception and a 16-7 record. Edelman logged in 19 playoff games, recording 118 receptions, 1,442 yards and five touchdowns. Both players have three Super Bowl victories with New England.

Edelman and McCourty will be back for another season with the Patriots and hope to make more playoff history — even though Tom Brady’s out of the picture.
