PFF rates Nick Chubb as second most elusive back since 2009

Former UGA stud and current Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb had a breakout rookie campaign in 2018. Chubb started the year slowly, then broke lose for several big-gains and couldn’t be kept off the field. Impressively, as a rookie, Chubb recorded the second highest elusive rating according to PFF since 2009:

It’s surprising to see Chubb among the most elusive backs in the NFL, like Alvin Kamara, since Chubb wasn’t known for his elusiveness at UGA. He reeled off several highlight runs en route to 10 total TDs, which likely contributed to his high grade.

This year, Chubb will try to best his 996 yard rookie season. Chubb emerged over the second half of 2018 after getting sixteen carries in his first six games. With a full workload, Chubb is a lock to rush for 1,000 yards in 2019.

The Cleveland Browns enter 2019 as one of the most interesting teams in the NFL and have playoff expectations under QB Baker Mayfield. Kareem Hunt, the controversial RB, will join Chubb in the backfield after he serves a eight game suspension. Hunt is as talented as any RB in the NFL and may help preserve Chubb for a playoff run.

The Browns are no longer a push-over and are ready to compete for a AFC North title. Bulldog fans are already excited for a must watch match-up between former backfield partners Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.
