PFF ranks Kirk Cousins the most valuable Vikings player of the past decade in WAR

Kirk Cousins arrived to the Vikings in free agency in the offseason of 2018. Not only has he lit up the stat sheet at times, but he’s also been one of the more valuable players in terms of wins above replacement.

Pro Football Focus found each team’s most valuable player of the past decade in WAR, and the outlet found that Cousins took home the honor for the Vikings.

WAR is a value given to a player in terms of generating wins, based on his position. It makes sense that Cousins would claim this spot for the Vikings because of his performance during his two-year stint with the team, especially in 2019 when he led Minnesota to a 10-6 regular-season record and a playoff victory.

PFF also recently gave Cousins high marks on third down. The outlet rated the Vikings quarterback fourth in the league for that category, with a grade of 80.6.

You can read why I think the Vikings giving Cousins an extension this offseason was the right move here.
