PFF: Panthers rookie Donte Jackson led all cornerbacks in missed tackles

Donte Jackson is coming off a promising rookie season and solidified himself as a starting cornerback for the Panthers. He led the team with four interceptions and was the only defensive player to score points last season. Jackson did well in coverage and in the end he was rated as the team’s best cover corner by Pro Football Focus.

However,  he did lead all cornerbacks in missed tackles last season with 15.

Carolina was ranked No. 18 in passing yards allowed last season and fell apart towards the end of the season. One big issue for the team was the lack of pressure that they created with their front four — but the addition of Bruce Irvin should help that.

With more help up front, Jackson and the other Panthers defensive backs should have an easier time in coverage in 2019. His focus will have to be on wrapping up and completing every tackle.
