PFF names Jevon Holland to their midseason All-Rookie Team

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has been hearing it from the fan base this season. Many of his draft picks and free agents haven’t worked out, and those mistakes have helped get this team to 1-7 in 2021.

His 2021 draft class has shown mixed results so far, but their second-round pick is getting some hype from Pro Football Focus eight weeks into the season.

On Thursday, PFF put out their midseason All-Rookie team, and Dolphins safety Jevon Holland was recognized as the second-best rookie safety behind Las Vegas’ Trevon Moehrig.

Holland has appeared in every game this season but has really come on late, playing 100% of the snaps in the last three games.

Here’s what PFF’s Michael Renner had to say about Holland:

“For only being a rookie, Holland has been an incredibly steady player for the Dolphins. That’s been especially true as a tackler — he’s missed only three of his 35 attempts this year.”

The former Oregon Duck has received a 65.6 grade on the season which puts him 35th among all safeties. However, where he’s really thrived for them has been his pass-rush ability. Holland has graded as the 12th best pass-rushing safety with a 74.7.

It’s only been half of a season, but Holland has shown some solid signs of improvement early on. Hopefully, he can continue to learn and become a great safety in this league.
