PFF makes the case for Vikings QB Kirk Cousins to be an MVP candidate

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has been good since he’s arrived in Minnesota. By many accounts, he’s one of the better quarterbacks in the league and he’s at least above average.

However, with how big his contract is, there’s an argument to be made that the team won’t be able to invest in enough resources outside of Cousins to be a definitive Super Bowl contender.

PFF’s Seth Galina makes the case for Cousins to get better. Galina writes that, under a revamped offensive line, it’s possible the Vikings quarterback could win MVP. Here’s what else he wrote:

“Cousins can still hold onto the ball now, but this hopefully means fewer defenders are in his face. The same Kirk Cousins is so much better with a stronger offensive line around him. If he becomes a better version of himself, the sky’s the limit — although that might be wishful thinking.”

Cousins’ weakness of holding onto the ball too long could be rectified by a decent offensive line. That said, we don’t know how good Christian Darrisaw and Wyatt Davis will be in 2021. If they come in, start and thrive as rookies, this Minnesota offense is going to be hard to stop.
