PFF: Christian McCaffrey 1 of 3 NFL players with 50+ targets and no drops in 2018

Christian McCaffrey’s father Ed played wide receiver in the NFL for 13 years, so it should come as no great shock that he has excellent hands for a running back. Then again, his efficiency as a receiver last season was remarkable no matter his genes.

According to Pro Football Focus, McCaffrey was one of only three players in the league last season who saw at least 50 targets and had no drops. The other two were Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett.

Hopkins came in at No. 2 on our ranking of the best receivers in the league for 2019 and Lockett is one of the most underrated players at his position. That McCaffrey is up there with them shows he has a truly unique talent for catching the ball.
