Peyton Manning to open a western-themed restaurant in Knoxville

Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and Graduate Hotels have teamed up to open a western-themed restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee, according to Brenna McDermott of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

The restaurant, scheduled to open in 2020, will be called “Saloon 16,” which is a reference to Manning’s nickname (The Sheriff) and the jersey number he wore while he played for the University of Tennessee.

The restaurant will be located in the Graduate Knoxville hotel, which will be located near the college campus.

“The vintage saloon will boast a refined, yet old-school, experience including a jukebox, dart board, live piano and outdoor dining,” per a press release.

After an accomplished career at Tennessee, Manning went on to play 18 years in the NFL. He won two Super Bowls as a pro, one with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Denver Broncos.

The restaurant will be located about two hours and 45 minutes east of the Tennessee Titans’ stadium. Colts fans making a trip to a road game against the Titans in 2020 might want to plan an extra stop to their travel plans to visit the ex-QB’s new saloon. The Broncos won’t play in Tennesee until 2021 at the earliest.
