Peyton Manning roasts Tom Brady for ‘B&E arrest’ in Florida

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will join Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in a golf match on May 24 to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts. In a video press conference on Thursday, Manning took a good-natured jab at Brady by saying the Bucs QB was arrested for “breaking and entering.”

“The tournament had to be in Florida — after Tom’s B&E arrest, with the ankle monitor, he couldn’t leave the state,” Manning joked. “So it had to be in Florida. Tiger and I talked to the sheriff in Tampa [and] he’s going to be allowed to go to Palm Beach to play.”

Manning, of course, was referencing Brady walking into a stranger’s house in April, thinking he was at the home of Byron Leftwich. Brady was not arrested for the innocent mistake.

Manning then took another jab at Brady for leaving the Patriots.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve never played Tom very well on his home turf,” Manning said. “I would have loved to have this tournament in a place where they don’t like Tom very much: Indianapolis, Denver, Boston — after he betrayed them and broke their hearts.”

Manning and Brady were rivals on the field but they are friends off the field and have stayed close since Manning’s retirement in 2016. Manning’s remarks were clearly well-received by a laughing Brady.
