Peyton Manning, NFL fans roast Mike McCarthy for terrible clock management before ‘MNF’ halftime

The Dallas Cowboys had a real chance to bury the Philadelphia Eagles before halftime on Monday Night Football. Instead, however, Mike McCarthy made quite the choice to send everyone off to halftime with two timeouts remaining.

With the Cowboys up 20-7 under the two minute warning, the Eagles failed to put together a quick drive to get themselves into scoring position. Twice, with two timeouts remaining, McCarthy elected to let the Eagles bleed clock on their failed drive before punting it away. Dallas then elected to kneel the ball down to get to halftime.

The two-minute clock was so mismanaged by McCarthy that even Peyton Manning and Eli Manning were stunned at the scenes unfolding before them.

McCarthy’s terrible clock management did not curry favor with NFL fans, many of whom were equally shocked at the atrocious mismanagement.
