Peyton Manning and Mike Shanahan attend Broncos-49ers joint practice

The Broncos will host the 49ers for two joint practices this week before facing them on “Monday Night Football” on August 19.

Former NFL coach Mike Shanahan and retired quarterback Peyton Manning were on hand for Friday’s joint practice.

Shanahan, 66, served as San Francisco’s offensive coordinator from 1992-1994 and as Denver’s head coach from 1995-2008. The three-time Super Bowl champion also coached the Redskins from 2010-2013.

Shanahan’s son, Kyle, is now the 49ers’ head coach.

Manning, 43, was the Broncos’ quarterback from 2012-2015. Denver won the AFC West all four years Manning was with the team and reached the Super Bowl twice, winning one title.

Manning, a five-time NFL MVP,  threw an NFL-record 55 touchdown passes in 2013 — 10 of those touchdown passes were caught by Wes Welker, who now serves as San Francisco’s wide receivers coach.

This is the second time that Shanahan has visited Broncos training camp this summer. Manning has made multiple visits this offseason and also visited Jaguars practice and will attend the Colts’ final practice of the summer.
