Peyton, Eli Manning will call alternate ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast

New York Giants legend Eli Manning and his Hall of Fame brother Peyton have been tabbed to host an alternate “Monday Night Football” broadcast beginning in 2021.

The brothers will team up for 10 Monday night games this season, calling each from remote locations with visits from current and retired players, as well as celebrities, throughout the broadcasts.

“Offering multiple Monday Night Football viewing options for the next three seasons continues our innovation efforts and provides additional value for our fans,” said Jimmy Pitaro, chairman of ESPN and sports content for the Walt Disney Co. “Peyton and Eli will bring a different approach, delving into conversation about broader, big-picture topics while also honing in on the game, much like fans do when watching with their family and friends.”

The broadcasts will be produced by ESPN in conjunction with Peyton’s media company, Omaha Productions, which launched in February.

“This partnership with ESPN and The Walt Disney Company reflects an ongoing, shared commitment to offering fans fun, innovative content,” said Peyton Manning. “ESPN+ has been a terrific partner for Omaha Productions as we built out The Places franchise and we’re excited to co-create a new MegaCast format that will have something for everyone.”

The standard “Monday Night Football” broadcast will feature Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salters and John Parry on ESPN and/or ABC.

The Mannings’ alternate broadcast will air on ESPN2 and potentially stream on some of ESPN’s other services, including ESPN Plus. The deal is slated to run through 2023.

It is unclear whether the Manning brothers will call any games involving their former teams — the New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts.
