PewDiePie regains YouTube title over T-Series after briefly losing top spot

PewDiePie has officially regained his title as the world’s most popular YouTube channel.

The gaming YouTube star, real name Felix Kjellberg, briefly lost his title to Indian music label T-Series, which regularly shares music videos from Bollywood movies.

T-Series briefly took over on Monday morning, but has since fallen back into second place after fans of the social media star launched an online campaign to help reclaim the position.

At the time of writing, Kjellberg currently holds the lead at 89,937,790 subscribers, while T-Series is just behind with 89,936,888.

After the Indian music conglomerate initially took over, Kjellberg appeared to encourage viewers to keep pushing back as he retweeted a post which read: “RED ALERT. T-SERIES HAS PASSED PEWDIEPIE.FIGHT BACK!

“FIGHT BACK THIS CANNOT BE THE END!!”

Social media users have since thrown their support behind the Youtube star, with many revealing they are creating multiple accounts to help keep the online throne.

One user wrote: “What do we say to T-series? NOT TODAY.”

Another added: “We have passed T-Series, I’ve made an extra five more accounts.”

“NO NO THIS CAN'T BE THE END.... we have to save him,” a third added.

Fans have rallied around PewDiePie since the Bollywood channel crept up on him, urging people to support him.

Fellow YouTube star MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, took the battle to the Super Bowl last month when he and a group of friends got on camera wearing t-shirts brandishing the words: “Subscribe 2 PewDiePie”.
