The Si Sa Ket petrol station hit by a Cambodian rocket last year will not receive further compensation as its losses were fully covered by insurance and its parent company, the government says.
Kamolrat Polsretlert, owner of the PTT Ban Phue station in Kantharalak district, submitted a petition to parliament on Friday seeking government assistance.
She claimed she was forced to use money saved for her children's education to keep the business afloat.
The July 24 attack, launched during last year's border conflict, struck the petrol station and an adjoining 7-Eleven, killing seven people and injuring 12.
Government spokeswoman Rachada Dhanadirek said on Saturday Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had instructed agencies to ensure fair assistance.
However, the station's request for support from the prime minister's disaster fund was rejected because the 3.05 million baht in property damage had already been compensated by Dhipaya Insurance and PTT, enabling it to reopen on Sept 5, she said.
The damaged 7-Eleven, which suffered 14 million baht in losses, received 9 million baht from CP All.
Compensation for the seven fatalities, totalling about 58 million baht, has been fully distributed.
Ms Rachada said the government was required to avoid duplicate compensation for the same property, adding that all 12 injured victims had already received a combined 4.6 million baht, with individual payouts ranging from 100,000 to 800,000 baht.
