Petrol and diesel prices have been rising steeply so far this year and there is not much hope that heavy costs for motorists will ease despite the chancellor's announcement that fuel duty would be cut. Motorists have been complaining they are yet to see the 5p per litre reduction passed down to the forecourts where prices remain at record highs.
The AA says since the start of the year motorists have been hit by a 20p-a-litre surge in fuel prices. And that this change has "rocked the finances of families, and particularly young drivers, pensioners and lower-income workers who need to commute each day".
Chancellor Rishi Sunak recently unveiled a number of measures the Conservative government hoped would ease the costs of living. However many have argued his plans are simply not enough amid rising energy bills, as well as fuel and food costs - in what is being called a Cost of Living Crisis.

To help out at the start of this week Nottinghamshire Live has looked at where the cheapest fuel can be purchased from. The website PetrolPrices.com reveals where exactly motorists can find their cheapest pump across the city and wider county, accurate to the latest report by customers.
Here are the top 10 as of Monday, March 28. It is worth noting this is for regular E10 unleaded, and it will differ for higher-octane premium unleaded as well as diesel.
