Petrol crisis: Driver pulls 'knife' on motorist as brawl erupts outside fuel station

This is the shocking moment a motorist pulls what appears to be a KNIFE in a petrol station row - before being run over.

The dramatic incident unfolded in Welling, south-east London on Monday as drivers continue to panic buy despite being urged to fill up only when they need.

Police were called but said that when officers arrived they found no trace of either driver - and no suspects have been identified.

The clip shows one man clutching something in his hand while shouting through the window just off the forecourt.

The car then rams into him - throwing him on to the bonnet.

The man is filmed running back to the driver's side and repeatedly kicking the car, causing some damage to the wing mirror, before the footage ends.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed to the Mirror that officers had attended the scene.

A spokesman said: "Police were called at 14:37hrs on Monday, 27 September to reports of a disturbance involving two motorists outside a petrol garage in Bellegrove Road, Welling.

"Officers attended and found no trace of either vehicle. No injuries were reported and no suspects were identified.

"We are aware of footage online which appears to show the incident and will review this as part of our ongoing enquiries."

Fuels for Ireland has urged drivers not to panic-buy fuel amid the shortage in Britain, as there will be no disruption to our supply of petrol, diesel and home-heating oil.

As well as this, Fuels for Ireland - who are responsible for Applegreen, Circle K, Corrib Oil, Emo, Inver Energy, Irving Oil, LCC, Maxol, Top Oil, and Valero - said its members are experiencing no issues at all here.
