Petrol bomb ignites after being thrown into living room of house in Larne

A petrol bomb was thrown into a house in the early hours of this morning.

The device ignited in the living room of the home in Ardclinis Gardens in Larne after it was thrown through a front window.

The incident happened on the small street of terraced and semi-detached houses at around 3am this morning, Tuesday, October 27.

Now detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are investigating.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The residents, who were awoken by the breaking glass, managed to extinguish the flames and alert emergency services.

"Fortunately the couple, who are in their 50s, were unhurt."

Police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about the crime.
