Formula 1 heiress Petra Ecclestone is said to be planning a move to Dubai in the new year, according to reports.

The daughter of billionaire Bernie Ecclestone will be the latest in a string of high-profile Brits leaving the capital for the UAE.

She will follow Rio Ferdinand, who moved with his wife Kate earlier this year, the Beckhams, who own property in Dubai, Love Island’s Amber Gill, and TV personality Joey Essex, who is also said to be looking for a new house in the Persian Gulf.

Multiple international celebs have also called Dubai home over the past few years, including Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, and Shilpa Shetty.

Petra's husband, Sam Palmer, revealed that the family “will soon” relocate to Dubai.

“Can't actually wait now,” the 42-year-old told the Daily Mail.

The duo currently reside in a £65million French chateau-style home in Los Angeles, and hold onto their £170million mansion in Chelsea, west London.

Petra, 36, said earlier this year that the quality of life in California had gone downhill.

She said, “The crime in America is awful, and we want a safe environment for our kids.”

The mother of four explained: 'It's the gun crime and the shootings.

“We ice-skated with our kids just before Christmas, and a homeless person dropped dead next to us. And seeing people smoke crack is not an environment we want to be in.”

Petra separated with her first husband, socialite James Stunt, who she shared her eldest three children with, after six years of marriage in 2017.

The heiress acknowledged her connection to the capital, saying: “I do love London, but we won't move back here for personal reasons.”

Her sister Tamara faced a shocking home invasion at her Kensington property in 2019, losing over £25 million of jewellery.

Tamara said, “I have not received any compensation for the burglary, but no amount could ever compensate for the aggressive home invasion we suffered.

“My children are in fear that thieves could return to the house while they are sleeping. There will never be any justice for that.”
