Petr Cech's brilliant message for Chelsea youngsters after making Guildford Phoenix debut

Petr Cech has fulfilled a childhood dream.

Last week it was announced that the former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper had completed a rather surprise move to British Ice Hockey side Guildford Phoenix as a netminder.

This decision came just months after taking on the role of technical and performance advisor at Stamford Bridge after hanging up his gloves in the summer following a four-year spell with London rivals Arsenal.

And on Sunday, Cech made his bow for Guildford Phoenix and made a big impact by making a penalty save which maintained his new club's perfect start to the season.

Reflecting on the game, the 37-year-old admitted it was a dream come true.

"It is kind of a childhood dream to come and play one game, which has [now] happened," said Cech, as per Sky Sports . "Nobody will ever take this away from me, which is really nice."

Cech also had a brilliant message for youngsters - not just at Chelsea - about chasing dreams.

"If you have a dream and you chase it and you do everything to make it happen... I have done that in football and all my dreams have come true," Cech added. "I said, 'this might be the last dream I was hoping to [tick off]'. But I worked hard for it.

"I think it can act as something for the young players to know that if you chase your dreams, then good things might happen."

During the game it became clear that Cech, was clearly keen to remember his time in goal for Chelsea and Arsenal.

He was seen wearing a helmet that featured the crests of both of his former clubs.

Despite his new role in ice hockey, Cech's job at Stamford Bridge remains the same.

"Some people seem to think I changed by job. No I didn't," he tweeted.

"Luckily my job as the Technical and Performance adviser at Chelsea FC doesn't stop me in my spare time from playing the game I loved as a kid and which I've been playing for years.

"While being (a) professional football I couldn't play the games for obvious reason...

"Now I can."
