Petr Cech pleads with Chelsea FC fans outside Stamford Bridge amid European Super League protest

Petr Cech pleaded with protesting Chelsea fans outside Stamford Bridge ahead of the Blues’ Premier League match against Brighton amid mounting fury over the club’s involvement in the European Super League.

Cech, who is the technical/performance advisor of Chelsea following a trophy-laded career with the club, left the Bridge to meet with supporters outside the ground before Tuesday night’s encounter with Brighton.

Despite Covid-19 restrictions meaning fans are yet to be allowed entry to stadiums for Premier League matches, hundreds of Chelsea supporters descended on the Bridge to vent their anger over Chelsea’s plans to form a new breakaway Super League with 11 other clubs.

Addressing the crowd of fans, Cech could be heard saying “give everybody time” in a video posted on social media.
