Petr Cech picks out the highlights of his time in England - and Chelsea fans will love it

Petr Cech has enjoyed a successful time in England with both Chelsea and Arsenal.

But his success at Chelsea stands out, not just for the Blues fans, but the man himself.

During his time in west London, he won the Premier League four times, the FA Cup on four separate occasions, the League Cup three times, together with the Champions League and Europa League in 2011/12 and 2012/13 respectively.

Cech has also won the FA Cup with Arsenal since making the move to north London, but the former Czech Republic international has picked out his favourite season during his 15 years in England.

“The 2004/05 season, or the double in 2009/10. I made a penalty save at 0-0 in the FA Cup final [against Portsmouth] and we won it, we won the double, we had to win the last eight games of the season to win the double, and we actually did that," he said, speaking on BBC programme Football Focus.

“Then you look at 2012, I was playing so well all season, but we just couldn’t win a game, and you wonder what is going on, then in the end we win the Champions League, the ultimate trophy, that you win when it was looking like a disaster."

But Cech also spoke of how his switch from west London to north London came about, after losing his place in the side to Thibaut Courtois in the 2014-15 season, when he only played 16 times for the Blues in all competitions that season.

“That was a frustration, and I could see it coming, but I knew I was simply too good to sit on the bench," he said.

"And then the Arsenal option came and I thought I am going to take it."

He has since played 138 times in all competitions for the Gunners, and is set to play his former employers in his final game as a professional, with Arsenal and Chelsea meeting in the Europa League final in Baku on May 29.

And here's what he has had to say about that.
