Chelsea technical director Petr Cech says there is still hope for Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge.
The Spanish stopper endured a tough season of last, leading to reports he will be replaced as the Blues number one after just two years.
It's claimed Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new goalkeeper, unimpressed by what he has seen by Kepa, but former goalkeeper turned technical director Cech says there is still hope for the Spaniard.
"Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable," he told Sport.cz.
"But the club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.
"Additions will be made to the squad, perhaps even in goal, and this is what is being discussed now.
"But nobody is giving up on Kepa and we all hope he has a great future."
Kepa arrived at Chelsea for £71m from Athletic Club in 2018.
He has since racked up 69 league appearances, but his position as the Blues' number one appears to be in serious doubt ahead of the new season.
Jan Oblak, Edouard Mendy, and Nick Pope are just some of the names who have been tipped to replace Kepa during the summer transfer window.
