Peterson: Dwayne Haskins’ improvement will be ‘night and day’ in 2020

It would be easy for an average fan to write Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins off after the tough rookie season he endured in 2019. With just seven touchdowns and seven total interceptions, Haskins was unable to break out of a rookie slump until the final games of the year, when he, unfortunately, went down with an ankle injury that ended his season. Just when he was starting to get the feel for things, he was forced to take a seat and wait until next year.

Well, ‘next year’ is getting closer, and judging by what some of Haskins’ teammates have to say, the QB we’re getting set to watch in the fall of 2020 will be a much-improved version of himself.

We’ve heard a lot of talk about Haskins virtually living in the gym this offseason, working to get his weight down and keep his body fat at a minimal percentage. Judging by pictures we’ve seen, he looks great, and the time he’s spent with his nose in a playbook bodes well for the future.

While it may still be a couple more months until we can actually see some of his progress on the practice field, we’ll have to take the word of others in the meantime.
