And with that, I’m gone. Bye!

Christian Fuchs talks on the telly:

We knew Peterborough is a tough team to play against, especially at home. The three goals, they halped us a lot, boosted our confidence. We tried to continue that way second half. The team performance was great today. [On the next round] To be honest we’re looking forward now to the game with Everton. We’re happy with the result today. Five goals scored is not too bad. Whoever comes will come.

If you want more live football, we’ve got more live football:

Final score: Peterborough 1-5 Leicester

90+2 mins: And Ndidi’s was the final kick of a one-sided game, with the referee calling an end to it before the restart.

GOAL! Peterborough 1-5 Leicester (Ndidi, 90+2 mins)

And that’s the sprinkling of icing sugar on top of the cherry! Diabate bursts into the box and pulls the ball back, and Ndidi thumps a shot into the roof of the net from 15 yards!

Wilfred Ndidi has time and space to find the smack the ball into the net for the Foxes fifth.

90+1 mins: Once again we’ll have two minutes of stoppage time.

90 mins: The finest shot of the match comes from Marias, who belts the ball into the top corner from 16 yards. He, though, was just offside, and this time a linesman spotted it.

89 mins: A final change sees Maddison go off, and Borg come on.

GOAL! Peterborough 1-4 Leicester (Diabate, 87 mins)

And that puts a cherry on it. Gray picks up the ball in midfield, runs to the edge of the area and shoots low. Bond saves but the ball rebounds to the massively offside Diabate, who slots it in!

Updated

85 mins: The crowd has got quieter and quieter through an action- and drama-light second half. At this point it seems they can barely be bothered applauding.

84 mins: Diabate’s low cut-back from the right gives Chilwell an excellent scoring chance, but he sidefoots straight at Bond.

81 mins: While Peterborough have brought Kanu on for Lloyd.

80 mins: Iheanacho comes off, Chilwell replacing him.

79 mins: Peterborough aren’t pressuring the man in possession quickly enough. Or indeed at all. Leicester thus work it around at their leisure, from left to right, taking their time, before Ndidi shoots high.

76 mins: Suddenly Marriott has the ball, and space, at the other end, but he takes it (the ball, not the space) a bit too wide, and from there his shot has to be truly special if it’s going to go in. And it isn’t.

75 mins: Another Leicester shot from range, but Albrighton’s effort goes well over the bar.

73 mins: Another shot from Gray, who hits it low and hard but straight at Bond. Leicester are doing quite a bit of shooting, but none of it from particularly threatening positions.

71 mins: Peterborough steal the ball in midfield and break, the ball is played to Maddison on the right and he tries to pick out Grant, only for a defender to fling out a leg, get a toe on it and deflect the ball to Hamer.

70 mins: Now Gray has a shot, which flicks off a defender’s shin and rolls wide.

67 mins: Great save! Iheanacho and Diabate play a one-two and the latter, just inside the area, sends a left-foot shot arrowing towards the corner of the net only for Bond to dive and palm it away.

65 mins: Two Leicester changes: Barnes and Iborra come off, and Ndidi and Albrighton are on.

64 mins: Iheanacho has half a chance, but touches the ball wide.

61 mins: The day’s first substitution: Da Silva Lopes is off, and Morias is on.

60 mins: Though not from that corner, which floated across goal, bounced once and went out of play.

59 mins: And Peterborough have another corner. Leicester seem to be lacking focus at the moment, and a second Posh goal is not impossible.

GOAL! Peterborough 1-3 Leicester (Hughes, 58 mins)

The home side have a goal! It’s a corner from the right, which is high and deep and not very threatening, but Taylor beats Benalouane to it and it drops to Hughes, who hooks it goalwards and it hits a defender and deflects through Hamer’s legs!

54 mins: Maddison gets the ball inside the area again, and he has two players - Marriott and Tafazolli - to his left to aim for, but his low cross is too close to Hamer, who falls on it.

51 mins: Now Maddison takes on Maguire inside the penalty area, and goes down. This time the referee gives nothing, and rightly so. Maddison, to his credit, springs straight back up without pleading glances to the match officials.

48 mins: Lloyd goes down under Simpson’s challenge, just outside his own penalty area, and the referee gives a foul. Lloyd thinks a yellow card might be in order, but was barely touched.

47 mins: 40 seconds into the half the home side win a corner, but Fuchs heads clear.

46 mins: Peeeeeep! Posh get the second half started.

The players trot back out. Can Peterborough find a way out of this hole? We’re about to find out...

Half time: Peterborough 0-3 Leicester

45+3 mins: It’s half time, and Peterborough are left to work out not so much how to get back into this game, but how to make sure it stays respectable.

45+1 mins: Gray runs from left to right, across and into the penalty area, but is a bit off balance as he strikes his shot, which flies high.

45+1 mins: Into stoppage time, of which there will be two minutes or so.

44 mins: Peterborough send another free-kick from deep into the box, but Maguire heads it away from danger.

41 mins: To their credit, rather than giving up Peterborough have become more competitive at 0-3 down. But they are yet to create a non-offside scoring chance.

37 mins: A proper chance for Peterborough! Da Silva Lopes finds space on the right, and he crosses to Marriott, who is offside. The ball flicks off his head towards Lloyd at the far post, who dives but can’t get anything more than an arm on it, and then slides head-first into the post! Had Marriott only missed it, that could have ended very differently. Instead, Lloyd is in pain and receiving treatment.

36 mins: A chance for Peterborough! Kind of! Maddison crosses from the right, Marriott meets it in the middle, but he’s offside. And he heads wide.

33 mins: Leicester haven’t just burst Peterborough’s balloon here, they’ve sliced it, diced it, and fed it to them with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

GOAL! Peterborough 0-3 Leicester (Iheanacho, 29 mins)

A fine third goal comes from a lovely Fuchs cross from the left, which curls just beyond Tafazolli and onto the right foot of Iheanacho, who volleys it in!

Updated

28 mins: Peterborough get the ball into Leicester’s penalty area, and win a corner. It flicks off a head to the right flank, where Da Silva Lopes picks it up and runs out of play.

25 mins: Diabate finds Barnes in the area, and he’s crowded out before he can get a shot away.

23 mins: Leicester are currently 143-80 ahead on passes.

21 mins: Leicester have well and truly taken the wind out of Peterborough’s sails here. Having done that, they’ve then shredded the sails and sunk the boat.

18 mins: Iheanacho dances into the area and causes a bit of panic, but Posh get it clear.

16 mins: The home side win another free kick, which is sent into the area and headed back across goal, where Hamer collects.

14 mins: A first yellow card of the game goes to Iborra, who pulled back Grant. From the free kick, fully 40 yards out, Maddison goes for goal, but the ball floats over the bar.

13 mins: The goal came from a Peterborough throw, which was worked inside to Forrester, who played a blind pass straight to Iheanacho. He ran towards goal, ignored the unmarked Barnes who had half an empty penalty area to run into, and having done so he really had to score, otherwise he’d have been getting a severe ticking-off.

GOAL! Peterborough 0-2 Leicester (Iheanacho, 12 mins)

And the lead is two! Iheanacho curls the ball with his left foot and it nestles just inside the post!

11 mins: Now Iborra gets into the area, and checks onto his right foot, but the ball is whisked away just before he gets his shot away.

10 mins: Adrien Silva gets the assist, poking the ball into the area and Diabate took it in his stride and from well wide of goal shot across goal and in at the far post.

GOAL! Peterborough 0-1 Leicester (Diabate, 9 mins)

And that has been coming! Leicester have taken control of the match and their debutant has given them the lead!

Updated

8 mins: The ball is played back to Haymer, and Marriott runs 30 yards to close him down and nick the ball off the goalkeeper’s toes, but it rebounds out of play.

7 mins: And another left-footer from outside the area, this time from Iheanacho, forces Bond into a straightforward save.

6 mins: Grant is back on, and Diabate and Iheanacho exchange passes on the edge of the area before the former hits a left-footed 20-yarder well wide, and also quite a lot high.

3 mins: Grant is flat on his back, having slid in to tackle Barnes and come off second best by a distance. The physio comes on and starts working on his left knee.

1 min: They’re off! Leicester, all in black, get the game under way and after 20 seconds Barnes has the first effort on goal of the game, but pokes wide.

It’s windy. It’s rainy. It’s the FA Cup. Let’s do this.

The players are on their way out, the home side in their blue home kit, the away team in their identically blue training tops (with something else presumably underneath).

Apparently it’s quite chilly in Peterborough:

Claude Puel has his pre-match chat with BT Sport:

It’s a good objective for the club, a good ambition. It’s a tradition in England. I think for the fans, for the squad, it’s important to pick on the pitch a good team and to try to win this game, of course. I think the spirit, the positive attitude, it’s important. They have good footballers, a good team, they like to play with quality and with quick attacking players and it’s important to have control of the game. We will see, but it will be a good experience. It’s important for us.

Hello! Simon here, fresh from a morning’s tennis. Watching it, rather than playing it, obviously.

Simon is not far away, he’s just been a touch busy bashing his keyboard for the Australian Open final, which was pretty ruddy entertaining. Will the excitement in Peterborough be able to match the entertainment in Melbourne for him? I will say it will.

Is Harry Maguire a Leeds fan?

Ben Hamer gets a rare outing for Leicester today, his last appearance was in the EFL/Checkatrade/Johnstone’s Paint Trophy when the 30-year-old goalkeeper got to play for the club’s Under-21’s against Oldham. A least he will be playing alongside adults today.

Former Newcastle defender Steven Taylor will be in the heart of the Peterborough defence today. Let’s all remember his finest Premier League moment:

This game was being built up as a chance for V9 (Jamie Vardy’s academy) graduate Alex Penny to show what he has learned from his master. Peterborough defender Penny will be able to pay close attention to Vardy’s movements and how he conducts himself, as they will both be sat on the bench.

Peterborough owner Darragh McAnthony certainly knows a thing or two about how to run a football club. He told Paul MacInnes how important the FA Cup is to the League One club.

Posh’s Jack Marriott is one of eight players you should supposedly keep an eye on over the course of this FA Cup weekend. Unfortunately, according to this article, Leicester have no one worth watching...

Team news

Peterborough: Bond, Shephard, Hughes, Taylor, Tafazolli, Forrester, Maddison, Grant, Da Silva Lopes, Lloyd, Marriott.

Subs: O’Malley, Baldwin, Morais, Penny, Kanu, Doughty, Borg.

Leicester: Hamer, Simpson, Maguire, Benalouane, Fuchs, Silva, Iborra, Diabaté, Gray, Barnes, Iheanacho.

Subs: Jakupović, Chilwell, Huth, Albrighton, Ndidi, Mahrez, Vardy.

Referee: Michael Oliver

Preamble

Simon will be here shortly. But, for now, you have me (Will) bringing you the team news and all that jazz. Not to mention some riveting build-up regarding today’s early game.

Peterborough are currently eighth in League One and have already seen off Aston Villa in the FA Cup, who included Premier League-winner John Terry in their team and Leicester have loads of people who have won the title, so there could be another upset today.

Leicester needed some VAR to help them defeat Fleetwood but there’s no video referee today, so Claude Puel will just be relying on the fact his players should be better than Peterborough, which they have proved since he replaced Craig Shakespeare by leading them from 18th to seventh in the Premier League.

Anyway...Simon will have better chat in a little while.
